"introducing the natural, renewable replacement to rainforest hardwood decking"

Treatment

Evoca decking is preservative treated with a new generation, advanced water-borne preservative. This new preservative provides the same long term resistance to termites mould and rot as traditional wood treatments but is free from components considered harmful to health and the environment.

Finishing

Evoca engineered bamboo decking comes precoated with Cutek Extreme Goldtone.

Evoca engineered bamboo must be regularly coated with Cutek Extreme to ensure durability and to avoid mould.

Note: In order to be covered by the Evoca performance guarantee, Evoca must be maintained with regular applications of Cutek Extreme with colourtones added as the colourtone gives the Evoca added UV protection in the harsh Australian climate.

Evoca that has been supplied in its precoated form should have a second coat applied within a month of installation.

Cutek Extreme  is easy to apply but care should be taken to apply it sparingly and according to the instructions on the label. Recoat as necessary to maintain original appearance. Depending on the location and climate the re-application frequency required is approximately twice a year.

Note: Any colourtone colour can be applied over the Goldtone pre-coat and with each successive coating the colour will build up. A bolder colour will take a few applications over the first year to build up the colour level. This is due to the fact that only small amounts of colour can be laid down with each application. The decking is very smooth when new and thus limits the colour particle numbers. When the decking has weathered from 6 to 12 months, it becomes rougher and more colour will flow into the surface

The guarantee offered on the performance of Evoca does not cover natural aging, 'silvering' or 'greying off'.  We strongly advise against the use of any other stain or coating on Evoca decking other than Cutek Extreme. Coatings that form a surface film-build can cause premature staining and failure resulting in an unsightly mould-like appearance.

We cannot guarantee the quality of Evoca unless it is maintained with regular applications of Cutek Extreme.

Do's and Don'ts

Evoca Decking Care and Maintenance

Evoca decking requires regular care and maintenance.

Note: In order to be covered by the Evoca performance guarantee, Evoca must be maintained with regular applications of Cutek Extreme with colourtones added.

Evoca that has been supplied in its pre-coated form should have a second coat applied within a month of installation.  Evoca supplied not pre-coated should be coated prior to installation, and again within a month of installation. Depending on the location and climate the re-application frequency required is approximately twice a year.

Suggested steps in preventative care and maintenance of your Evoca deck:

  • Install properly with gaps between boards and correct pitch away from building to assist with drainage and drying.
  • Avoid the use of bark or mulch around, on or under the deck.
  • Keep the area under the deck well ventilated and free from materials that retain moisture.
  • Avoid overspray of plant fertilizers.
  • Place BBQs and grills over a large mat so that splashes and spills can be avoided.
  • Avoid constant dripping from sitting or hanging planters.
  • Surface staining and mould can and will grow in any surface in full exposure to weather, bamboo is no different. Customers need to be aware that they need to clean any effected areas ASAP with SaraClean, ProClean or other suitable wood cleaner see www.chemisys.com.au for more details.
  • Small degrees of surface and end checking will always occur with bamboo and all wood decking. It would be helpful if customers were aware of this fact so they don't start to panic.

Recommended cleaning methods:

  • Regularly sweep to remove dust and organic matter.
  • We do not recommend high-pressure washing or water blasting.
  • Washing down with a mild detergent solution once a year if required is an acceptable method of cleaning, especially prior to reapplying CD50 Extreme.
  • Surface staining and mould can and will grow in any surface in full exposure to weather, bamboo is no different. Customers need to be aware that they need to clean any effected areas ASAP with SaraClean, ProClean or other suitable wood cleaner see www.chemisys.com.au for more details.
